Our storyMission, vision and a name with a formula

We bring the
turning force.

Every robot that walks, grasps or waves starts with the same thing: torque. Torquero exists to supply that force to the people building the future, with robots, the AI that drives them, and the know-how to put both to work.

Mission & vision

Why we exist, and where we are going.

Our mission
Put capable robots, and the AI that drives them, in the hands of the people who will shape the future.

Students, teachers, researchers and builders should not have to wait for robotics to reach them. We help them choose, get and use the right robots now, whether they buy, rent or build, and we develop the AI software that makes those robots useful.

Our vision
A world where robots are as familiar as computers: in every classroom, every lab and, soon, every home.

And a world where the people living with robots understand how they work, can teach them new skills and decide how they are used. That future starts with the generation learning on real robots today.

We started Torquero in 2026, at the moment AI began to leave the screen. Language models learned to understand us, and humanoids and robot dogs became products you can order. But for most schools, universities and companies, the path from interest to a working robot was still confusing, expensive and lonely.

So we set out to be the partner we would have wanted ourselves: independent across brands, flexible with buying, renting and building, and deep on the software side through Torquero Lab. Headquartered in Groningen, the Netherlands, working with customers around the world.

The name

Why “Torquero”?

Our name is a small piece of physics with a human ending. Here is how it is put together.

Torquero
torque + -ero
TORQUEThe turning force behind every motion. Torque is what an electric motor delivers and what every robot joint needs to lift an arm, take a step or close a hand. Robot makers even list it on the spec sheet: peak joint torque, in newton-metres.
-EROA Spanish and Italian ending for the one who works with something, as in ingeniero, an engineer. Put together, Torquero means the one who brings the torque. And yes, you can hear a little hero in it too.
τ = r × F
τTorqueThe motion you get.
rLever armThat's us: the lever.
FForceYour ambition and effort.

The formula in our footer is our business model in one line. Torque is force times leverage. You bring the ambition: a course to teach, a question to research, an idea to prove. We are the lever that turns it into motion, with the right robot, the right route and the right software.

The mark: torque you can see

Our logo is the symbol engineers draw for torque: a curved arrow turning around an axis. The dot is the axle, the arc is three-quarters of a turn, and the arrowhead shows the direction of motion.

It is never quite a full circle, because there is always a next turn. That is also where our tagline comes from: Get things moving.

What drives us

Our values.

01Hands-onWe learn by building and testing on real robots, and we help others do the same.
02IndependentOur advice follows the customer's goal, not a single brand.
03CuriousRobotics and AI move fast. We keep learning, and we love the hard questions.
04ResponsibleSafety, privacy and honesty about what robots can and cannot do yet.
05OpenOpen tools, open standards and open conversations, so knowledge spreads.

Bring the force. We'll bring the lever.

Tell us what you want to teach, research or build, and let's get it moving together.
